Bailey was so excited about "Where the Mountain Meets the Moon" that I decided to get some more books by Grace Lin for him at the library. He really liked this book and read it in one day.
This is actually the sequel to "The Year of the Dog", which I haven't read yet, but I plan to now.
In the Chinese Zodiac, the year of the rat holds a place as a year of change. Grace, the main character, goes through some big scary changes during this year.
She encounters separation from her best friend, a new boy at school, her favorite cousin's wedding, getting her first bad grade and wondering about her talents. She grows and learns and at the end is glad for the Year of the Rat.
